Need to incorporate the 'Dislike' reaction button on the Facebook post

Need to incorporate the 'Dislike' reaction button on the Facebook post
The Issue
To: Meta / Facebook Leadership
We, the undersigned, believe that Facebook must introduce a “Dislike” reaction button to uphold the hygiene, authenticity, and credibility of social and digital platforms.
Today, the absence of a “Dislike” option limits users to either silence or false positivity, even when encountering harmful, misleading, or inappropriate content. This gap compromises the digital ecosystem’s transparency and leaves users without a simple, constructive way to signal disapproval.
A “Dislike” button would:
- Promote content hygiene by discouraging the spread of misinformation, harmful posts, and unethical behavior.
- Give users a balanced voice, enabling both positive and negative feedback.
- Encourage creators and communities to maintain higher quality standards in what they share.
- Support digital well-being by allowing users to express disapproval without needing to engage in arguments or negativity in the comments.
Maintaining the integrity of online spaces requires more than amplifying positivity; it also requires tools for responsible accountability. Adding a “Dislike” button would be a step forward in making Facebook a more authentic, balanced, and healthier platform for all.
We respectfully urge Meta to prioritize this feature in the interest of digital hygiene, transparency, and community trust.
