More recreational time for Cheshire CI

More recreational time for Cheshire CI
The Issue
A mistake doesn’t define a person; and the Criminal Injustice System is filled with racism that leads to false arrests, overcharging, plead deals, wrongful convictions and overreaching broken policing policies!
Cheshire CI is a level 4 DOC facility that makes there own policies like the children of the men incarcerated not being able to send pictures in crayon or marker. Now with visits gone due to COVID19 precautions their 1-2 hour daily recreational time is not enough. Locked in a compound for 22-23 hours a day behind a solid door with no air conditioning is inhumane. Our sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and grandfathers have to decide if they are going to shower or wait on line to call a loved one.
Tell Governor Ned Lamont and CT DOC Commissioner Rollin Cook to implement a minimum of 4 hours of recreational time each day at each facility so that it is standardized and can’t be taken away as a punitive measure by Warden Kenneth Butricks and his officers who retaliate when our loved ones make valid complaints about the deplorable conditions. A shower should not be optional especially when that may be the only time our loved ones get to cool down if and when the HVAC is fixed.
Please continue to use social media, email, and call until Connecticut treats our loved ones as the humans they are. #StillHere
