Governor Ned Lamont is allowing gyms to reopen at 50% on June 17. The catch is that he also requires 12 feet of space per person if not wearing a mask! If you are wearing one while exercising, you can be 6 ft apart. 

This is not only ridiculous to encourage people to wear a mask while exercising, but unsafe, unrealistic, and not based on science! He is putting many many small, locally-owned, some family-owned businesses at risk of never reopening. And at the same time, he is allowing sports practices and games to occur inside gymnasiums with no space requirements. He is also allowing indoor dining with no masks at 6 ft apart to commence on June 17. 

It's clear that this mandate on gyms was arbitrary and without so many business owners in mind. If you patron a small gym or boutique fitness center, please sign this petition to support them.
