The Afan Valley Visitor Centre is the hub of Mountain Biking in the Afan Valley and brings thousands of visitors to the area each year. Without the facilities that the Visitor Centre offers, including cafe, bike wash, showers, and toilet facilities, the numbers will soon start to dwindle, having a knock on effect to local businesses such as the Bryn Bettws lodge, Afan Lodge and the numerous bike instructors and trail guides that operate in the area. The Visitor Centre is one of the few attractions that brings tourism to the area, and it is extremely short sighted of the Council to think there will be no economic or cultural effect.
