We the undersigned are strongly opposed to the construction of any "roundabout," "traffic circle," or other similar traffic features at this location. The current plan for a roundabout at this key intersection is in direct opposition to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. It fails to address the needs of the entire region and will not improve traffic at this location. No traffic studies have shown that the creation of the 1.6 million dollar roundabout will function at an acceptable level in the future. The installation of a four-way stop has resulted in zero accidents and should suffice the needs of this intersection. We are against the proposal of taking land from well established business and home owners for a project that our community does not need. Local government boards have already voiced their opposition to this project and now the NCDOT needs to hear from the people.
