Hey all—

Just wanted to thank everyone who’s signed this for stepping up to the plate and finding time to do so. Thanks to your efforts, we’ve gathered just over 2,000 signatures!

I got a message from Murph shortly after he learned of this petition; in typical Murph fashion, he was genuinely appreciative of the effort. 2,000 signatures is awesome....but I think we can do better.

There’s just over two weeks left in the regular season. Because networks have broadcast rights for the playoffs (unless it’s difficult in this goofy COVID year), that means we only have just over two weeks to enjoy Murph on Phillies’ telecasts. Can we get to 3,000 before the end of the season? Why not 4,000? If 9 people sign per hour for 16 of 24 hours each day for 2 weeks, 9 x 16 x 14 = 2,016 more signatures. That doesn’t seem out of reach.

If ever you’ve enjoyed Murph’s broadcasts, met him in person, gotten a picture with him....whatever the case, if his presence as a Phillies broadcaster has maybe helped brighten your day just a little bit some time, step up to the plate and help out. Share the petition on your social media feeds, tell your friends and family, help spread the word.

The URL for the petition is now a bit more user-friendly. The petition can now be accessed at:

Perhaps you’ve grown fatigued from all the social media posts and other calls to action (including another petition here on change.org) in support of Gregg Murphy’s retention as a Phillies broadcaster. To those who are weary from hearing and seeing such posts, I offer this revision of a quote from another TV personality, Homer Simpson: he who is tired of Murph is tired of life.

Thanks to all for your support in this endeavor. Just like Gregg as he nears the end of The Ben to The Shore Bike Tour, let’s make that final push for the finish line and finish up strong!
