First and foremost thank you, we are at 2500 signatures, but still 7500 short of our goal. So lets talk about why I am asking you to try once again to recruit just one more signature. The shark competitions that #sharkhunters is featuring have minimum weight requirements. Which means they target sexually mature potentially pregnant animals. All 3 of the species being targeted do not reach sexual maturity until they are 8-9ft in length, right at the size minimums for the competitions. To get to this minimum size will take the sharks anywhere from 5-12 years depending on species. Therefore taking the sexually mature adults not only depletes the shark stocks from one shark but potentially hundreds for every one killed. Please continue to share, tweet and support this campaign.
