Surrey’s countryside is under threat.
 
It has been there for us during the pandemic with many making use of our green spaces for exercise, for spending quality time with friends and family, and for our own health and wellbeing.
 
My family and I have discovered new gems on our doorstep and now that I have found them, I do not want to lose them.

Natural England – the Government body responsible for the natural environment – will soon be deciding whether or not to redraw the boundaries of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

We are calling on them to expand the boundary which would mean that more of the beautiful spaces, the ancient trees, wild orchids, and stunning wildlife that we all enjoy, will be preserved and protected from the threat of new housing/development.

If we don't act now, those special landscapes may be built over and lost forever.  Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
