Change the location for DC weather observations

Change the location for DC weather observations
The Issue
This most recent snowstorm in DC was one for the record books. Snowfall totals at Reagan National were 17.8 inches making the storm the number 4 snowstorm in DC history. The issue is that Reagan National's weather isn't representative of DC. It is 4 miles SW of downtown DC and is separated from DC by the Potomac. This results in portrayals of weather conditions that don't match what we actually experience in DC. For example at the White House where the National Park Service takes observations it showed 22 inches of snow from this storm which would have been 2nd all time in DC history. The conditions at the White House are much more representative of the weather within the District.
I petition the National Weather Service to move the area where they make weather observations for DC from Reagan National Airport to the White House.
