I’ve had an incredibly hard time finding an attorney willing to take on this type of case. Most animal law attorneys focus on liability—like dog bites—not reunification. And because of that, I’ve been pushed into a corner.

At this point, I believe the best path forward is media attention. All I’ve ever wanted is a clear answer—to confirm whether this dog is my Smokey or not. That’s it. It shouldn’t be this difficult.

I don’t understand why they’ve chosen to make it so hard—maybe they think I’ll give up. But let me be clear: I’m not going away. Even if they try to silence me, even if I’m stonewalled without legal representation, I will keep going. I will keep speaking up—not just for Smokey, but for all the lost dogs like him who deserve a fighting chance to get home.
