Tomorrow evening (10/9/25) we will be meeting with Baroness Valerie Amos, Chair of the National (England-only) Maternity Investigation, and her expert advisor Professor Joht Singh Chandan.

This is a critical opportunity for them to hear directly from families and campaigners about our experiences and our thoughts first-hand.

Ahead of this meeting, we have received and reviewed both the revised draft Terms of Reference and the proposed shortlist for the Expert Advisory Team - both of which we were able to contribute to.  We are encouraged by the progress and the commitment to hearing from those most affected.

We are also reassured that an independent, trauma-informed counsellor will now be present at each meeting.  This is an important step, following the deeply upsetting experience earlier this year when grief was weaponised by a small group in a previous session.

That incident left scars, which were only deepened when it was later denied - on separate occasions to a father who was at the meeting, to Rhiannon, and then to Kayleigh.  We are thankful the individual responsible for the outright denial has now been removed from the list of expert advisors.

In addition tomorrow, 2 - 3 members of the Investigation Team will be present at our meeting.  We understand they will introduce themselves, explain their background and role, and ensure feedback on the terms of reference, expert advisors, and site selection for local reviews is captured and shared.

We are hugely encouraged that Wes Streeting has been true to his word in creating a process that can - and must - deliver.  We want to give this every chance of success, in memory of Kate and Pippa, and for every family whose voices need to be heard, and for every single one of you who has been incredible and signed and supported our petition.

As ever - we'll keep you updated.

Rhiannon, Rich, Kayleigh & Colin
