Dear supporters,

Thank you for standing with us.

This morning, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care announced an independent investigation into maternity and neonatal services in England. It is a vital step forward - one that acknowledges the depth of failure, the scale of harm, and the voices of families who have been fighting for truth, accountability, and change.

But while we welcome this, it is not enough.

We started this petition because we believe what’s needed is a UK-wide public inquiry into the safety of maternity services - just as we have seen with the Infected Blood Inquiry and the Covid Inquiry.

Why?  Because maternity harm is not confined by borders.

Families in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have been failed too.  Patterns of systemic negligence, poor culture, defensive leadership, and inequity run deep across the whole of the UK.  Only a coordinated, four-nation approach can deliver the full learning and accountability that this crisis demands.

That’s why we’re asking the new Government to go further - to work with the devolved nations and ensure that this investigation includes every part of the UK.

The time for siloed responses is over.  The truth must be heard everywhere.  And families must not be left behind because of geography.

To all 37,000+ of you who have added your name - thank you. You  helped get us this far.

Please keep going.  Share the petition again.  Talk about it.  Write to your MPs.

We are closer than we’ve ever been - but we will not stop until every family, in every nation, is heard.

With hope...

Rhiannon, Richard, Kayleigh and Colin
