Kayleigh Griffiths has spoken to Laura Weir from Lanyon Bowdler solicitors for their latest Legal Lounge Podcast.  Kayleigh explained how her perfect daughter, Pippa, tragically died as a result of gross medical negligence at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust.  She details how, together with her husband Colin, she had to fight to uncover the truth about why Pippa died. 

In this powerful episode, Kayleigh also articulates why there must be no devolution in terms of provision for safer maternity services - and why, therefore, there has to be a four nation maternity inquiry.

In the same week the outgoing NHS Ombudsman has gone on record to say there remain serious issues of concern in the NHS, particularly in maternity, and that prioritising reputation over the truth is still the standard for too many hospital boards, Kayleigh's words should send a shiver down anyone's spine who has to trust the NHS for the safe delivery of their child.  In her own words, if she had known how bad things were, she would never have had another child.

There can be no more damning an indictment of how appalling England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland's maternity services are than for a bereaved parent to say they would never have had a child - if only they had known...
