Hello and thank you for everyone who has signed, shared, tweeted etc. Please see the list below of the MP's involved with the Parliamentary group on Deafness. I have emailed them all as a group to inform them of the petition and to ask for the petition to be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. I've been informed they had a meeting on 16th January, and they only have to meet twice a year. I do not have a date for their next meeting. Please contact your own MP as they do not have to reply to anyone outside their constituency. I have emailed others with involvement of hearing loss issues etc but I've been informed that they can refer it back to my MP or ignore me, that's how the system works. I had a reply from Penny Mordaunt's team (Minister for Disabled people) I had emailed re the petition and made reference to BSL and lipreading resources / funding etc. The response was that BSL and lip-reading is a matter for the Department of Education and Cochlear Implant is a matter for the Department of Health. There was no offer of any help from her team. I have already emailed Jeremy Hunt some weeks ago, no reply at present. I have sent my original email to Penny Mordaunt along with her reply to Justine Greening at the Department of Education, asking for her opinion on this matter.
