Few bits of information. Apologies to anyone who already knows, but wanted to share........
There are groups in parliament that are called APPG - these are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. However my assumption is if they are involved in a group that links to what you are fighting for, then they may be willing to help ?Unfortunately I couldn't see one relating to Hearing / Deafness etc when I checked the latest one (6th Jan), Action on Hearing Loss advised me there is one and there must be an error. The Chair is Jim Fitzpatrick MP for Poplar and Limehouse. I emailed Jim on 17th re this and the petition and had a brief reply on 18th stating he would check this out.

As I've had hearing loss for so many years I'm aware of groups/ writers etc .......
You may have found this petition from the limpingchicken.com - if you haven't heard of this before please check this out, lots of information to help and articles published. Check out Nick Vincent (writes as Nick Oliver) lots of articles in the Action On Hearing magazine over the years http://www.nickvincent.moonfruit.com/#/magazinewebsite-writing/4570758334
Another source of information is the National Implant Users Implant Association which I hadn't joined before due to not having a CI, but have been told I can, so please check them out. There is also the link on the news page for a candidacy survey on CI which is an initiative of the BCIG - British Cochlear Implant Group - this is the professionals group - note the deadline is 31st Jan. There is also the link for the turn to hear research by Jacques Grange. I have been in touch with Jacques and asked if there is any more research for hearing aid users and CI users to compare. Swansea Uni are looking at this and will update if / when I find out more.

If you are on Facebook check out these groups - someone may be able help / have a similar story / tried out equipment / information on groups etc Cochlear Implant UK, help and support ......Pardon? I'm deaf when will you listen .......
There is World Cochlear day at the Science museum in London on 25th February - you will need to register but this is free - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/celebrate-international-cochlear-implant-day-world-hearing-day-afternoon-tickets-30890349868
There are other free events in Newcastle and Sheffield http://www.cochlear.com/wps/wcm/connect/uk/about/news-centre/cochlear-information-days
I have contacted several MP's who I think may have an interest in Hearing issues, most have yet to reply, but this is early days and I'm aware they respond to constituents as a priority. If you are able to contact your MP and make them aware of the petition and support you helping to push this forward please do so. It is irrelevant if you voted for another party - they must represent their constituents. It appears some have standard automated replies of will get back to you within 15 days etc.
See if you can spot your MP on here https://www.facebook.com/pg/actiononhearingloss/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1305346139522872
Thanks to Lilian Greenwood MP who has signed, tweeted and posted on Facebook
Once again many thanks, I'm reading every comment and see this affects many more. This in itself has mixed feeling for me, sad that others are struggling and excluded, and happy that you have found the petition and as a group we can try to make NICE listen.
Thank you
Diane
