Thank you to all for your continuing support.  Can those who want a Federal Integrity Commission/ICAC that HAS an INBUILT Code of Conduct already written into the Bill, PLEASE sign THIS Petition as well?

Petition · To the Australian Parliament - The Australian PEOPLE want an INDEPENDENT Federal Integrity Commission (ICAC) with a Code of Conduct - put onto OUR Parliament's Agendas as quickly as possible, PASSED by our MP's and Senators and implemented! · Change.org

An Integrity Commission that ALSO has TEETH, is RETROSPECTIVE AND has Whistleblower Protection built in?

This Bill introduced into the House by Dr. Helen Haines Independent MP for Indi in Victoria in October last year - has the support of the Cross-bench in the House of Representatives AND the Senate (unsure about PHON though!) and indeed Larissa Waters whose Bill this current Petition is supporting SUPPORTS Dr. Haines' Bill. (please see picture with Ms. Waters accompanying Dr. Haines into Parliament WITH the Bill)

Which is wonderful BECAUSE an Integrity Commission (ICAC) is NOT about PARTY POLITICS - it is ALL about our Politicians showing RESPECT for the wishes of the Australian PEOPLE who have been PROMISED an ICAC for OVER 15 years!

Yes the LNP has Legislation for their Commonwealth Integrity Commission but this has been criticised by those WHO KNOW about Integrity in the Courts and Politics, as being WORSE than not having an Integrity Commission/Anti-Corruption body at all!

A real Clayton's ICAC!

Dr. Haines' Federal Integrity Legislation  was developed in consultation with Government and Opposition Politicians, legal academics, panels of retired Judges, civil society stakeholders and ethicists - so there appears to be no reason WHY Members of ALL political persuasions should have major issues with this Bill.

BUT they WILL because MANY of the MAJOR party Politicians DO NOT want such a STRONG ant-corruption body - although so far Labor has supported it.

The IDEA of the Petition is to get ENOUGH support to pressure MPs in MARGINAL seats - who if the polls indicate they might lose in an election - may decide to SUPPORT the Bill to avoid being VOTED out.
