Now the threat of Covid19 has somewhat eased - we must not become complacent. The virus STILL exists, there is not yet a vaccine and just a small outbreak could escalate wildly.
However as our lives start returning to some kind of 'normalcy' and those who were unable to work will find out if they do still have jobs (or will have to negotiate the unhelpful PROFIT-ridden system of PRIVATE job agencies that are only interested in getting their payment from the Government) our Politicians will also return to their normal attitudes and ways of doing things.
It will be angry politics as usual. And hard-line ideologies have not/will not change.
The Court action by those harmed by the Government's hard-line automatic assumption of guilt 'RoboDebt' policy will hopefully result in victory.
The Federal Government has admitted they likely very much knew the program 'wasn't legal' (OR ETHICAL!) - but ran with it anyway. Perhaps they hoped Australia's ever increasing out-of-reach justice system for those who aren't wealthy would protect them?
Thank you to the Lawyers who ensured this WASN'T the case.
However they won't apologise because they see an apology as weakness - many of the members of this Govt have demonstrated this in the past.
There is still the UNETHICAL issue of the Indue Card 'trials' - another assumption of guilt without any evidence - that ALL Social Security recipients just waste the money given to them.
Hopefully these people will also get justice - before the Government enables its agenda of ALL recipients being forced onto an UNETHICAL card which enables wealthy CORPORATIONS to PROFIT from people's misfortunes at Australian tax-payers' expense (of course - it seems CORPORATE welfare is NEVER an issue!).
Now things are returning to some kind of normalcy - and Parliament starts operating again (WHY we were one of the FEW countries who democratically elected Parliament CLOSED during a National Emergency is a question our Politicians should answer! And it should never happen again) the other issues that have died down somewhat such as the Sports Rorts (links in an earlier update) and the issues around the Regional Grants Scheme which have not been properly aired and explored will become much more important.

The current Government has been in power for 7 years - there are STILL unanswered questions over Tony Abbott's direct action program in which tax-payers PAID businesses to reduce their pollution (instead of them reducing their pollution first and then perhaps being rewarded?) and whether WE the people got value for OUR money in the Government's $2B program!

The next election will be soon upon us - in fact I suspect with many of our current politicians - hanging onto THEIR own lucrative jobs has NEVER left their thinking!
Perhaps Aussies should think of a radical way to ensure we break the mould of political PARTIES and wealthy CORPORATIONS running our country - who BECAUSE of our 2PP system - blithely ignore the NEEDS and concerns of everyday Australian PEOPLE while distracting us at EVERY election with lies and BS.
We would need to change our thinking of whether WE are 'Labor' OR 'Conservative' rusted-ons
It's the concept of #NoSafeSeats..
