Hope you all are staying safe and well! I just wanted to give you all a quick update and thank you again for the support you've shown for this petition and this cause.
We have passed the 550 signature mark which is INCREDIBLE!! Thank you all SO much for agreeing with us that the NHL needs to DO more to achieve racial equity within the league and in hockey in general.
As I was texting my entire contact list last night (sorry), one of my former students told me that when he was about to sign into NHL20, a message popped up saying that the NHL condemns any past racist acts and will be taking strides to work for anti-racism in the hockey community. EA Sports NHL gets it, but the league itself has done nothing.
So PLEASE keep sharing this petition around; I know it feels like you're annoying people (believe me), but when something matters this much, you gotta do the work!
