When you signed this petition, you stood with millions of patients demanding recognition.
That recognition has just laid a foundation.
For the first time in U.S. history, the FY26 Appropriations Report includes official language urginf the NIH to recognize endometriosis as a chronic, systemic inflammatory disease. Not just a reproductive condition.
This wasn't done by lobbyists. It wasn't done by institutions with million-dollar budgets.
It was done by patients.
Advocates showed up while navigating their own surgeries, flares, and daily battles with a broken system. Then helped change federal health policy.

This language will influence:
- NIH funding priorities for endometriosis research
- Medical training and education for future providers
- Future policy and legislative efforts at federal and state levels
This is the validation we've been fighting for. And it's proof that when patients organize, we win.
But, recognition without enforcement isn't enough.
We're continuing to push for:
- Full enforcement of the new federal language
- State-level adoption of the same classification
- ADA recognition with real penalties for violations
- Mandatory medical education reform to replace outdated theories
Your signature helped get us here. Now we need you to share this update and bring more voices into the fight.
