I am writing to everyone to encourage them to report the situation regarding the deplorable conditions inside the abandoned Lighthouse Inn to Erin Brokovich.
Below is the link to report an environmental concern / complaint. It is my hope that if enough people write to her team about this atrocity in Galilee, she or her legal team may consider taking action against the RIDEM and Procaccianti and Paolino. Even if they fail to take action the more negative publicity, we generate the more pressure will be on the RIDEM and Procaccianti Developers from continuing in their nefarious actions.
Community Healthbook - File A Complaint to Erin
For a governmental agency (Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management) to condone such reckless behavior by a developer on leased land by the RIDEM is inexcusable and it stinks of corruption in Rhode Island. To add insult unto injury after the James Procaccianti and Joe Paolino intentionally abandoned the Lighthouse Inn which they own in Galilee by violating its lease with the RIDEM, the RIDEM has continued to allow Procaccianti and Paolino to continue to operate their street level parking in Galilee which is continuing to take tax dollars away from the State and the Town of Narragansett. If it was you or I we would be fined by the RIDEM, summoned into court, and we would face criminal prosecution and charged with fines for our intentional abandonment of the Lighthouse Inn.
For those who do not know about Erin, she is a well-known activist who has fought against big corporations and the Environmental Protection Agency. In RI we need to continue to fight against the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and Procaccianti Developers on the harm that has been done and that they continue to cause in Galilee. Since her investigation uncovered that Pacific Gas & Electric had been poisoning the small town of Hinkley’s Water for over 30 years-- leading to the largest direct-action lawsuit of its kind that resulted in the utility giant paying $333 million in damages to more than 600 Hinkley residents-- Erin has leant her voice to other key issues such as the Flint Water Crisis.
Here is a link you should find of interest on how Erin recommends we fight against a governmental agency such as the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management: Video of Erin discussing on how a community needs to stand united to fight against a state agency such as the EPA that has failed in a community.
I hope you can take a minute to report what has happened in Galilee to the Community Healthbook that Erin created.
Later this year if the RIDEM and Procaccianti Developers fail to take corrective action regarding the leased land in Galilee, I will be planning another peaceful demonstration on the harm the RIDEM and Procaccianti Developers has caused to our village of Galilee.
