Let's hope and pray some of these great ideas do not fall on the ears of people who FAIL to listen. Thank you to Dr. Will Green and his College Students from the University of Rhode Island who did a wonderful job on their research. May all those in a position of authority from our Governor, the RIDEM, and our elected officials take the needed action to create a viable mixed-use development for Galilee that will help the commercial fishermen, the businesses, tourism, and k-12 students, and college students.    Let's also hope the Town of Narragansett supports this research by having the Town Council reach out to make the RIDEM and our legislators to bring forth many of the ideas noted in the mixed-use development models presented by the researchers.  We have to stand United to Help us Save Galilee Both Literally and Figuratively.   In addition to the great ideas presented, I would suggest is a Maritime Museum that will help educate students both at the grade school through college levels and our public on how to preserve our fishing industry, protect our fragile oceans and their ecosystems, and memorialize our fishermen both past and present.    In addition, temporary housing for fishermen and dorm style rooms that would be available for students such as they have at the Newport Seamen's Church Institute would be ideal.   Please see the following link on my tour of the Institute:  Newport Seamen's Church Institute. When I visited Newport, RI, I found both the Newport Seamen's Church Institute and the Sailing Museum are of great benefit to Newport to provide inexpensive lodging and to educate people on the sailing trade respectively.   If some affordable housing units could be also added in the area of Galilee that would be an additional plus as there are many that have to leave Narragansett as there is not enough affordable housing.    If we can reach 4000 signatures on this petition, that would be another milestone.   Please encourage any family or friends to sign this petition.    I wish you all a Happy Hanukah or a Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year.   Please click on the following link to view the latest research studies conducted by Dr. Will Green and his team of college students:  URI Research Resiliency Study to Save Galilee Both Literally and Figuratively.
