Thank you all for your signatures in support of the Town of Narragansett's Proposal. The Town of Narragansett will be having a Town Council Meeting on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, and I will be speaking at the Open Forum and providing my rationale on why more than ever all our Town's governmental officials need to stand together to support the Town's Proposal for Galilee. The more people we have that support the Town of Narragansett's proposal through the signatures presented on this petition, the more difficult it would be for any governmental agency or even an elected town official to not listen to the will of the people. In Narragansett, we had to fight for a modern state of the art library. The former town council members fought against the library with the exception of Councilmen Jesse Pugh and Patrick Murray, but after it was supported by the residents after a second vote for the library at a bi-yearly election this town council fully supported the library. I wrote many letters in support of the library that were published, and many thanked me for my advocacy. While we will not have a formal election for the town's residents to support the Town of Narragansett's Proposal, I can tell you the majority of our residents want a viable development plan for Galilee rather than a large parking lot, a seafood processing plant, or giving Procaccianti a 99-year lease, so that he can consider if a Boutique Hotel is economically feasible. After the RIDEM decides on a proposal at a tentative date of January 15th, the proposal will then go to the State Properties Committee for review. The State Properties Committee can then either accept the proposal selected by the RIDEM or reject the proposal selected. Let us hope and pray the RIDEM will select the Town of Narragansett's Proposal for Galilee.
