I am thrilled to share that our 11th months long quest called #NoSilenceForViolence has finally resulted in victory. In a report released at the state secretariat on 13th February 2019, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has announced: "Mahila Mitra System of Vijayawada must be replicated at various levels across the state of Andhra Pradesh."

The government also said that it is committed to look into the safety and protection of the women and children.

This exactly what I had been campaigning for with my petition. None of this would have been possible without the support of 1,06,000 people, including you, who signed my petition. Thank you all.

It is this incredible support that enabled me and my organisation Vasavya Mahila Mandali to be part of the expert committee and explain the nuances of Mahila Mitra to the other government officers.

I am happy to also share with you that I am now becoming a part of the government's implementation team to ensure that Mahila Mitra is rolled out correctly across the state. On behalf of you all, and every woman in Andhra Pradesh I want to thank this state government for being a frontrunner in taking policy-level action on the issue of safety and protection of women.
