The next hearing is 7 p.m. November 19, 2025, at 400 Eagle St. in the Naperville Council Chambers. This will be the fourth Planning and Zoning meeting on this proposal. Thank you to everyone who turned out on November 5. We need you to come back and pack the room! The petitioner will be making a final presentation before the council asks questions and votes.
Currently Naperville (like most cities) has no formal safeguards in place to protect public lands, neighborhoods, and other local businesses from data center projects, which can have serious environmental impacts and public health risks. There are also many zoning, air and noise pollution, master plan, and electrical grid complications. On top of that, Naperville gets the majority of its electricity from coal-fired power plants. (This one data center would be the equivalent of adding tens of thousands of homes to the already strained grid—yes, your electric bill will go up—along with regional air pollution.)
This massive data center would set a dangerous precedent in the western suburbs, allowing placement next to neighborhoods and forest preserves, and the Sensory Garden Playground.
