AAHA, Stop Allowing Declawing At Your Standard of Excellence Hospitals

0 have signed. Let’s get to 15,000!

Dear American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA),

(Photo of Teeger who was declawed at an AAHA hospital along with his 2 siblings. They all had horrific complications and had to have their paws amputated. More about this story- http://citythekitty.org/3-kitties-declaw-story/ )

We, the undersigned, ask you (AAHA) to no longer allow declawing in your standard of excellence hospitals. Please make a strict and enforced policy against declawing.

By doing so, you will be protecting the interest of cats instead of protecting the interest of declawing veterinarians.

This is what you say in your About section on your website, "The American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization to accredit companion veterinary hospitals. Our accredited hospitals hold themselves to a higher standard. Pets are their passion, and keeping them healthy is their #1 priority. They strive to deliver excellent care for pets. Why? Because pets deserve nothing less."

Declawing is the amputation of a cat's last toe bone. It is performed routinely in AAHA hospitals across the country despite your position statement against it and despite it having absolutely no benefit to the cat.

Declawing is below the standard of care.

Cats deserve better.

It's time for you to be strong. We will celebrate your bravery in leading the way to a better world for cats.
