Dear Changemakers,

Thanks to your support for the appeal for reforestation in Nairobi county, our Governor, Hon. Sakaja has made the decision to import fully grown trees. This will definitely assist in combating the rising rates of deforestation in the county. During a tour of CBD he got to see the devastating effects of cutting down trees to pave way for infrastructure and we support his move to bring in trees to replace the ones we have lost. We are also grateful that he has clarified that the county will not be using taxpayer money for the import because the trees are donations from Malaysia. In this regard, we request the Governor to also consider local suppliers of trees.

Keep pushing to sensitize the government and others on the importance of maintaining our forest cover.
