Keeping Early Years Unique
Apr 4, 2016
Thanks for all your support. Please make sure you have also signed at https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/121681 and keep on sharing and telling everyone about this cause. There seems to be a feeling of change in the air right now, with parents and teacgers coming together. Yesterday's headline about how our children succeed at 5 before trailing behind international peers again shows why early years must be extended to aged 7. Today's story about the effect of testing on children's health is disturbing with a Dfe spokesperson commenting that "Tests are a key part of ensuring young people master the skills they need to reach their potential and succeed in life." This is nonsense... just like the made up words children in year one have to be able to read to pass the fatally flawed foniks test. Anyhow... some other news is that a group of parents are leading a fb campaign to encourage parents to take their children out of school on 3rd May in protest against SATS in yr2 and 6. Check out the page here. https://m.facebook.com/parentssupportteachers/ to find out more. Thanks again everyone! A press release has gone out so fingers crossed you may be hearing more about our petitions soon...
