N Ireland Bikers demand the right to their traditional parking spot in Ballycastle.

The Issue

N Ireland bikers are being denied their tradition parking spot on the footpath at Ballycastle seafront by jobsworth Red Coats and their organisations.

We were out for a run around the N Coast the other day and rode from Ballymoney to Larne and around the coast,  stopping along the way in various scenic spots to have a yarn, coffee and a rest.

When we arrived in Ballycastle where we normally stop for a few minutes, we were surprised to see the footpath area across from Morelli's, where we normally park was empty, and a load of bikes were parked in awkward positions around the carpark.

When we dismounted we were told by some of our biker brethren that we were no longer allowed to park there. Two 'red coats' had apparently told everyone to move as parking there was illegal,  and anyone not within 15 minutes would receive an on the spot fines.

This was aggravating enough but all the parking spaces in the carpark, 4 of which are 'dedicated motorcycle bays'.. 4 ffs, were blocked by parked cars, and the bikers were more on less told 'too bad'....

This isn't on... bikers have assembled on that pavement without causing any inconvenience to pedestrians for years, most of them only park long enough to spend a few £ in the cafe and local eateries before moving on...

Then some jobsworths decide to flaunt the bit of power they assume they have and decide they will take on the mite of the N Ireland Biker Community... Nope,  not happening.

Please sign and share this petition, we need to stop tradition and the opportunity for peaceful congregation, meeting up and putting on a show for the visitors to Ballycastle being ruined by this crowd and their organisation.

If the succeed in Ballycastle, then Portstewart Prom area and all the other areas where we have been meeting for years will be next.

Can't be allowed to happen folks, make your voices heard.

Have fun, ride safe and enjoy the summer ☀️
