Hello Supporters, this is Shaun Harris again, the uncle of Ms Dhu We lost another young dad in custody- in Parklea prison in Sydney. He was held for only minor offenses. He had babies just like yours and mine. They will miss their dad as they grow up. The most disgusting thing is, is that his family said goodbye to him hospital , when the poor guy was laying there brain dead. But the authorities had him shackled to the bed with cuffs. Why would they cuff him to bed? as if he could get up? It really makes me so so devastated. This is what my people endure time , and time again. This degrading treatment. The family took food video of this incident despite the authorities telling them to delete the footage. Can you just imagine how shocking this video would be? This is the power and confidence we want to give communities, so they can pull out their cameras and show the world this unacceptable treatment. And so they can have much needed relationships with lawyers and media to make this video go far and wide and have the most effect. Aboriginal peoples have always had a voice, this is about turning up the volume so they can't be ignored.
