Animal Endangerment

Animal Endangerment

The issue

We are currently 3 months into 2021 and already over 30 endangered species have gone extinct, while thousands more are left on the brink of their lives. Animal endangerment is a serious issue that is impacting over 38% of animals world wide.

Did you know that the famous macaws in the film Rio sadly went extinct in the wild in 2001. Since the film's release in 2011 the species has worsened, being pushed further and further to the edge of extinction.

Some other animals that are currently endangered are,

-       Javan Rhino

-       Vaquita

-       Tigers

-       Orangutangs

-       Asian elephants

-       Snow leopard

-       Leather Back Sea Turtles

-       Giant Panda

-       Red Panda

-       Koala

-       Mountain Gorillas

-       Sperm Whale

-       Northern White Rhinoceros

-       Blue Throated Macaw

-       Lions

World wide zookeepers and ordinary people are advocating for animal rights. You can find out more about some of these people and their stories here!
