We are so grateful to you for taking the time to sign our petition to the Federal Environment Minister, Tanya Plibersek, calling on her to protect Woogaroo Forest in Ipswich from development.
We are halfway towards our goal of getting 15,000 signatures on our petition – so thank you!
We know we have the attention of the Government and Local Council. But we have to keep building the momentum for them to act.
Can you help out by joining us in some fun local action?
If you live in the region you can help us by:
- Joining our roadside banner events – we’re looking for people to be part of a small group waving signs to raise awareness of our fight. We’re planning to stand beside high traffic areas in Brookwater and Springfield from 4:30-5:30pm on Weds 21 August and Friday 30 August. One lucky person will get to wear a glider costume!
- Letterbox dropping in Springfield, Camira, Bellbird Park, Brookwater and Augustine Heights – why not drop a few flyers while you walk your dog?
- Helping us with doorknocking – we work in pairs and will be talking to residents in Brookwater and Bellbird Park in the coming weeks.
- Or let us know if you can help run a community stall, will put up a sign on your fence, or can help in other ways.
You can sign up here.
Don’t live locally but would still like to help?
Can you take a minute to like us on Facebook and share our petition with your friends and family?
Here is a simple message you can copy when you share it:
Can you help save Woogaroo Forest? It’s home to koalas, powerful owls, echidnas, platypus, and many other creatures we all love. It's important habitat, yet greedy developers want to bulldoze it. @IpswichCityCouncil, Mayor @TeresaHardingIpswich and Deputy @CrNicoleJonicDiv2 are refusing to show leadership and act to protect our endangered wildlife or the surrounding communities.
Can you help? Sign this petition for Federal Environment Minister @tanya.plibersek asking her to say NO to big developers and Save Woogaroo Forest!

Please share the petition with your networks to help us reach our target of 15,000 signatures by 31 August. Thank you!
