Final Growth Committee meeting this Wednesday

Hello everyone - I just wanted to keep you updated on what is going on with the City and it's "growth committee." There will be a final meeting this coming Wednesday (in 2 days) at 5 p.m. at the city council chambers at 104 N. 5th St in Murray. The committee will be discussing what to do with all of the information that it has gathered. I would encourage you to attend this particular meeting if you can. If we could have a full room of people there expressing opposition to the implementation of a payroll tax, I believe it would have an impact. My hope is that if the committee determines a payroll tax is unnecessary, the full council would not take up the issue. Of course, the Mayor could still choose to bring the issue back up no matter what the growth committee decides. If you are able to attend, please express your respectful opposition to the tax and be appreciative to the committee members, who are volunteering their time to serve. This may not be meeting where a final decision is made, but it could be a very important meeting nonetheless.
