The Grandparent's Conference was a huge success with over 189 people registering. The majority were grandparents and children affected by these issues.
We now intend to build on next steps which include:
Meeting with President of Family Court
Cafcass have offered to meet with grandparents to hear their experiences and how they can make improvements
We intend to develop a Legal Policy Working Group with Leeds Beckett University as we aim to change policy and practice within this space
We are working on developing an All Party Parliamentary Group with the support of MP's
The momentum will continue until we see changes in this space, so that grandchildren are no longer abruptly removed from safe and loving relationships with their grandchildren.
