Schools out for summer! Today I spent sometime on a popular coastal seaside town that was packed with young children, building sandcastles, eating ice-creams, dipping in and out the sea and all living in that present moment. The air was filled with laughter and joy and it was marvellous and palpable. 

I love to people watch and I guess people tend to watch differently as they view such and all scenes from their personal place being their life experiences and yep, this is exactly what I did today. I noticed so many grandparents holding the hands of their grandchildren, I spotted their hands wrapped in the young ones hands as they carefully protected every step and the watchful eagle eyes as grandchildren neared the sea line. 

I began to wonder how many grandparents and grandchildren are missing from each others lives and then how many grandparents are watching this scene with deep pain.  The pain and loss that comes with such reminders is often everywhere for grandparents who have been robbed of their grandchildren, often due to disagreements with family members. 

We continue our fight for change and I am in the process of completing my report on these issues, that will be advocated to those in power. We continue to support the many grandparents that are reaching out at the website in pain. Many apply to Family Courts as a last resort to be met with little understanding, character assignations that bear no relevance to a Court process. I received a letter from a Minister last week who reminds me that grandparents can apply to the Family Courts but then what? Child Arrangement Orders are breached with very little penalty and I could go on and on! This HAS to change.

We are still here and working behind the scenes and hold onto the vision for change because we believe in it and intend to hold those to account that allow such injustice to happen.  

Well it seems my MP Rishi Sunak is now running for PM and so let us see what his manifesto is on such issues of injustice, at least I will drop him a line now.
