I now receive many emails from grandparents robbed of one of the most precious relationships without the support of the law. This petition will now be updated with their stories, because they remain unheard in our society.  

I will never forget that day when like a thief in the night, you robbed me of a relationship that is so precious, that being the one between grandparent and grandchild. It is OK that you forgot about me but you didn't think about that little boy. The one that came to know and love his grandma, a bond that was built on only love. He will not understand why and heaven forbid he maybe wondering if I did not care anymore and  later in his life he may feel abandoned by me. 

This being so far from the truth and yet my hands are tied as the law is not on my side. I can sit and wait for you to find me and only God knows how many years will pass and even if I make it through those years. I know that my own child will be proactively ensuring my memory is erased and your innocent mind will become to accept her lies as truths. 

Choice: I can make one of the most difficult decisions and that is to apply to the Courts and be in a court process with a child I gave birth to. 

Until the law changes this is the only option a grandparent has to take, it is an impossible situation and NOT in the best interest of children.
