Julia is an 86 year old grandmother who is still waiting to hear from the police, as too wether her case will go to the Crown Prosecution Service.
She was asked to attend the police station to be interviewed due to going to her grandchildren's home to give them gifts and then going to her granddaughter's school to peer through the railing on Sports Day, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Previously, officers arrived in marked cars to talk to her, asking her to promise stop this, her behaviour is rooted in the living bereavement of being denied access to her grandchildren because of a disagreement. These experiences leave loving grandparents frightened and suicidal and over the past 7 months, I have heard of suicides.
The children suffer as they sit at home thinking they have been forgotten, when this couldn't be further from the truth. The image is a letter Julia wishes to share from her granddaughter, please support over 1.4 million grandparents and 2 million children who have the right to safe loving relationships.
