The current COVID-19 pandemic has made the current situation very unpredictable, and as school has asked us to come in to take semester exams very abruptly, there are various reasons why this is not possible/favourable. One such reason is the fact that there is poor air circulation, this would increase the chance of transimission through particles in the air, opening windows is not a fullproof solution as it will be hot and students will not be able to focus. Another reason is that there was no transparency during the decision making and the consideration of having offline tests. Students nor parents were asked their opinions about the possibility of having an offline test, this decision does not take into account if parents do not give consent for their children to take online test. Another byproduct of this is that students are not able to prepare adequately as there is a very slim window to study. Lastly, if students are required to take rapid/pcr/swab test, it would be very inefficient and tedious, they would have to take the test everyday and it would be a logistical mayhem to transport medical staff to school everyday and to dispose the medical waste, and we have yet to discuss the amount of money that is needed to take these tests, and keeping that there is no implication that the school is going to subsidise the cost for the test or the even the processing of the waste. In conclusion it is not favorable to hold the test offline due to the problems stated beforehand. I hope that both students and teacher can reach a mutual agreement that satisfys both parties regarding this problem
