"I am signing this petition because i shouldn't have to... is it not
obvious, Oh elected and appointed civic leaders of Shelbyville,
that:
1. Covid 19 is communicable
2. Covid 19 is deadly
3. Covid 19 is a disease for which we have no cure
4. Covid 19 is a serious world-wide health problem that has not gone away
5. By holding this horse show, you are not only condoning, aiding and abetting cruelty to animals ( yes, direct reference to the vicious painful 'training' methods of the Big Lick crowd ) but you are also adding to the spread of this disease that has taken many lives, is overwhelming the health care system, and disintegrating the economy. I have cancelled my participation in horse shows due to reasons such as bad weather; rain,mud, heat... circumstances that would make it bad for myself and my horse. Never would I imagine that the importance of a horse show could possibly outweigh the factors listed above.Thank you for opening my eyes to this.... stay well...if you can."
