CCABLAC and Horse Plus Humane Society of Hohenwald, Tennessee, saved Glimmer from going to slaughter in July 2015. Videos telling Glimmer’s story have been viewed by over 1,500,000 times and reached over 4,000,000 persons. Gen’s Ice Glimmer is now America’s Tennessee Walking Horse. Glimmer was tortured in the “Big Lick” Animal Cruelty Gulag for 9 years. His front feet were seared with burning scarring chemicals , and they were beaten with chains while wearing almost 8 lb shoes on each front foot. Glimmer was confined in a small stall the entire time. Glimmer's life of Big Lick horror ended on July 28, 2015, when he was rescued at a livestock auction in Cookeville, Tennessee. Glimmer was brought to the auction sale with no hope. His destiny was to be sold to a "killer buyer", and then shipped to a slaughter plant in Mexico. CCABLAC and Horse Plus stepped in and saved Glimmer.
