THE FINAL PUSH IN THE CONSERVATIVE ELECTION ! ! !

Three have been whittled down to two candidates for the final month or so while they tour the country to persuade Conservative party members which one of them should be their new leader. The final choice is between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt.

We therefore have a month or so to step up our campaign.

Anne kindly commented that she is fed up with writing to MPs, going on peaceful marches past empty offices & wants to take over the streets and rebel. I know how she feels but look at the reaction Extinction Rebellion and the School children’s strike got. They were vilified. Even the huge march in London was ignored. I know other actions, including marches, are being planned.

I know that the Labour leadership is becoming much more favourable to a public vote on whether the UK still wants to leave the EU or to stay as a member of the EU with the opportunity to help reform it.

If you want to hold a meeting in your uni, college or school to test the feelings of your fellow students, it is best to get the teachers onside first, they are quite likely to agree with you, go ahead and you can use the evidence when you write to the MPs.

Similarly, organise a meeting in your Community Hall or Club House or Church  or invite friends round & do a vote however small to use as evidence. You could carry a placard (make one from a cardboard box ) around your housing estate or village or high street and invite people to help your research into how people feel about Brexit now. Just be careful not to break any by-laws. Don’t accost people, ask them nicely if they would mind helping with your survey. You might be able to ask your council if you could set up a stall, perhaps you could bake cakes and offer them at a discount if they help your survey. I’m sure you can think of ideas of your own, so Good Luck!

To those of you who still believe that remaining in the EU is best for Britain, bestforbritain.org, People's Vote, For Our Future's Sake ffsakes.uk,  Our Future Our Choice  ofoc.co.uk,  what-europe-does-for-me.eu,  #EUandME, are worth looking at and signing their petitions.

Writing to your own MP, to Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Labour Party, Tom Watson, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer Shadow Brexit Secretary, to Jo Swinson of the Liberal Democrats, to Caroline Lucas, Leader of the Green Party, to the new Leader of the Conservative party (probably Boris Johnson), to your local paper and national papers too, are all useful to spread your views.

Don't forget to be polite and when writing to MPs or newspapers it is essential to include your name and address.  MPs and members of the House of Lords can all be found at  www.parliament.uk.You can search for your own MP by inserting your postcode, and the others are listed alphabetically with their party. There are separate lists for MPs and Lords/Ladies/Baronesses/ Bishops. Be warned that if you write to members in the House of Lords you cannot send identical letters to more than six at a time,so make a small change for the next six & another small change for the next six and so on and you should be OK.

Chatting to friends, teachers, club coaches, parents, workmates and anyone else you can think of will help to get your views heard and remember to ask them to sign this petition and share it with their contacts too.

The more people we can reach, the more likely we can do the right thing for the country and Remain and Reform in the EU.
