Since I last posted

An appeal has been granted on the grounds that the sentence was manifestly inadequate! We are grateful to the work of the OPP and the decision to pursue an appeal on this sentence. Common sense and legal principle has prevailed. The legal system is spiralling downward, with each offender using the case law of precious perpetrators to get a light sentence. Our work here is not done. This is one of many examples of sentences that do not meet community expectation and certainly don't reflect the crimes committed by a vast array of offenders. We await the sentencing of the second offender, Adam Williamson after the appeal hs had its day in court. Though we don't anticipate this sentence will be adequate either. We are working towards changing the system that lets all victims and the community down. Our deepest thanks to all those that have taken the time to sign and express the horror not only in the crime committed against Pop but the atrocious sentenced imposed on the perpetrator.
