Mr. Pesutto made contact with us today amidst the much-welcomed media attention. Though brief, he expressed his support for what we are trying to achieve and spoke of the roll-out of sentencing reforms if he is to win the next election. This would include MINIMUM mandatory sentencing for Violent Criminals who commit crimes like Murder. Under their Government Cooper would have received a Minimum 20 years. I also see the Attorney General, Mr. Martin Pakula, has spoken on camera about a mid-range sentencing regime that would see Judges having to provide reasons for departing from a mid-range sentence for Murder being 25years. 1 week ago we there was no comment.
