Despite President Biden’s growing rift with Prime Minister Netanyahu, and his efforts toward temporary ceasefires, U.S. weapons keep flowing to Israel, including 2,000 pound bombs and fighter jets. 

Biden has refused to invoke the Humanitarian Aid Corridor Act, which prohibits the provision of offensive military aid to any country restricting the delivery of U.S-backed humanitarian aid.

For years the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has punished politicians who stray from its line. This year, many Muslim Americans and other voters in battleground states hope to make Joe Biden a one-term president.

 

Dear President Biden,

At your own moral and political peril, you continue to sponsor Netanyahu's "mighty vengeance" against the Palestinians. 

Some American officials admit this war is a fool’s errand, that Israel cannot defeat Hamas by military means. Though you have called repeatedly for a two-state solution and pushed for  temporary cease-fires, you have quashed Security Council resolutions for a permanent cease-fire.  You have yet to leverage military aid.

Hamas may brag of genocidal intent, while Israel is waging a war of ethnic cleansing, if not genocide itself. This will guarantee the survival of Hamas.

You must demand a permanent cease-fire and the release of hostages and Palestinians in Israeli jails, and for the level of humanitarian assistance needed. You must demand that the IDF leave Gaza, to be replaced by an international force. You must leverage military aid to these purposes.

Otherwise, you might very well lose critical numbers of voters in battleground states, leaving the world with Donald Trump.
