Considering that:

●        the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report warned of the perilous and potentially irreversible state of our planet and is a “Code Red for Humanity” 

●        animal agriculture has been documented to be the most damaging driver of the planet’s demise due to its direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions, land degradation, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, water consumption and pollution

●        transitioning from animal agriculture to plant-based agriculture is not included as a COP26 goal

●        the UN Food Systems Summit (Sept 2021) and COP26 (Oct/Nov 2021) are the world's main hope for uniting and motivating world leaders to prioritize, address and rectify the dangerous tragic trajectory we are on,

We, the undersigned, request that:

1.       the phasing out of animal agriculture be added as a key COP26 goal

2.       the world governments work with farmers to transition to plant-based agriculture or other climate-friendly employment, and transition subsidies to plant-based agriculture

3.       governments who continue to contribute to the planet’s demise be held accountable

4.       all meals, including side dishes and desserts, served at all events at the UN Food Systems Summit and the COP26 this fall, as well as all UN related events in the future, be plant-based by default.
