Passing on a request from a neighbour to attend this meeting to show support. Dear Neighbours: Tomorrow evening at the Township of Langley council meeting our Council will be asked to vote on the following motion drafted by Councillor Kim Richter: Recommendation: Whereas Walnut Grove area residents continue to be very concerned about the anticipated increase in traffic on 216th Street north as a result of the new 216 Street interchange; and Whereas there are two elementary schools and two preschools on 216 Street north between Telegraph Trail and 96th Avenue; Therefore be it resolved that truck traffic be prohibited on 216 Street north of the proposed Highway 1 Interchange to 96th Avenue, and that staff be directed to bring forward all necessary bylaw changes in order to prohibit truck traffic on this entire stretch of municipal roads. I realize that this is short notice – we didn’t have advance warning of this motion--, but if you cannot attend the meeting, please send a short message to all the councillors and to the mayor before tomorrow evening’s meeting endorsing the motion at mayorcouncil@tol.ca or to each of their email addresses. jfroese@tol.ca; krichter@tol.ca ; parnason@tol.ca; cfox@tol.ca; blong@tol.ca; msparrow@tol.ca; aquaale@tol.ca; bwhitmarsh@tol.ca; ddavis@tol Below is some text you may feel free to use for your message if you want to: Dear Mayor and Councillors: I (and my family) support 216th not being a truck route. I am (we are) in support of Councillor Richter’s motion. There is no need for trucks to go through my neighbourhood past two elementary schools. If there is a problem for trucks with 200th street then fix 200th Street. DON’T RUIN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD. Sincerely, Your Name Walnut Grove
