Do you know that my 4-year-old Autistic Child, Zubeen is waiting for Justice! Yes

I, Tehmeena Rayees, a mother of 4 years old Autistic child Zubeen Ahmad likes to inform you all that I am struggling for Justice for my special needs child, moving from pillar to post and knocking all the doors but justice is yet to be delivered. The J&K Government is still silent.

My child was diagnosed with Mild Autism on 24/03/2023 at 92 Base Army hospital srinagar and Psychologist advised me to start with Early interventions therapies.

Due to unavailability of early intervention therapies at 92BH I have opted for a private child development centre named Brainpreneurs CDC Jawahar Nagar Srinagar on 31/03/2023.

I visited the centre and after a brief consultation by a psychologist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist. I was suggested to start therapies with immediate effect from 01/04/2023 for the betterment of my child. Brainpreneurs, CDC centre therapists, suggested regular occupational therapy and speech therapy on alternate days.

After a period of continuous therapies for 7 months, I was asked by the Admin Ms Rais-un-Nisa to go for an IQ assessment in the month of october 2023 with their newly appointed Psychologist Ms Somia Rashid with CRR NO A83589 on 04/10/2023. She assessed my child and asked me through parental questionnaire. On 20/10/2023 she handed over my kid’s report and it was found that my 3.9 years old child as on 04/10/2023 has a Moderate level of Autistic features whereas each autism measurement tool DST, VSMS as per standard IQ assessment report indicates some different types of theories. Reports were prepared and presented by Brainpreneurs CDC Srinagar Clinical Psychologist, Ms Somia Rashid. On 24/11/2023 , I approached the CDC for the current level of functioning report of my child and she mentioned the same diagnosis of the Moderate level of Autism in that report along with another blunder psychological evaluation report on zubeen's functioning.

I was confused and anxious with the unexpected results. I wondered why my child has become a moderate Autistic from Mild autistic kid even after receiving continuous OT, Speech therapies. I consulted another renowned clinical psychologist in the valley. He assessed my child continuously for 2 days and submitted a report in which it was mentioned that my child has a mild Autism and mentioned each area of development in the report.

After getting a brief evaluation report, I visited and confronted the Brainpreneurs CDC srinagar staff including Admin Ms Rais-un-Nisa,CDC Head Obaid Bhat, CEO Ms Sunaina Tickoo and clinical Psychologist, Ms Somia Rashid. All. staff members tried to manipulate me with different stories they wanted to cover up and protect psychologist Somia. As a parent of a special need child I have the right to ask and I resisted and then they started Mentally Harassing, Humiliating me. They even tried to coerce and Threaten me in a meeting on 03/01/2024 and Ms Sunaina tickoo was virtually available.in her presence I was been Mentally assaulted harassed and threatened by obaid bhat , Rais-un-Nisa and Somia Rashid. They tried to shut me down and also humiliated my husband by contacting his work place and pressurized me again but they were unsuccessful to do so.

On 06/01/2024, they suspended and terminated my Autistic child's ongoing therapy sessions without any provocation or prior information of ground reasons of suspension. It appears that they don't want any parent to raise their voice against injustice, betrayal and medical negligence that can ruin someone’s life. They want to continue to exploit vulnerable parents financially and emotionally.

 

After the unethical termination of my child from Brainpreneurs Child development centre I approached Rajbagh police station to file a complaint against Brainpreneurs CDC Srinagar but SHO refused to file my complaint saying it's a case of medical negligence.

I approached CWC Srinagar on 8/01/2024 and they issued an order on 11/01/2024 against Brainpreneurs child development centre and directed them to revoke suspension of my child with immediate effect. I didn't accept their order as in the order 235/CWC/Srinagar/2023 the board members didn't address my core concerns which was about blunder psychological assessment and functional level report prepared by psychologist, Somia Rashid and unusual practice of therapy by Speech therapist which led my child into regression. They passed this order based only on centre head Obaid bhat's biased statement during his appearance.

I, then approached the DC office regarding the order and asked to reopen the case for a fair and open investigation. I also approached SSP srinagar , DGP police , NCPCR, ICAP, RCI, Social Welfare and the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment also state disabilities commissioner.after the denial of registering my complaint against Brainpreneurs CDC Srinagar, Jawahar Nagar, Kashmir. After investigation CMO office submitted its report to DC office, NCPCR took cognizance of the matter and sent 3 letters to DC office for investigation.

I approached every government department in jammu and kashmir and Justice is still awaiting. It's not a matter of my Autistic Child but it concerns thousands of special needs kids who are receiving treatment at Brainpreneurs CDC. The head of the Brainpreneurs influenced police and government authorities. They want to hide and shut my case.

I need your strong support and prayers so that I will fight for my Autistic child and other kids till the government punishes Brainpreneurs CDC srinagar management clinical psychologist Somia Rashid .

My demands are as follows:

1. Proper Health guidelines for each Rehabilitation Center CDC in the valley for the betterment of our special need kids.

2. Clinical Psychologist Ms Somia Rashid should be penalized and punished according to RCI and RPWD Act 2016 for wrong assessment of children.

3. Brainpreneurs CDC Jawahar Nagar must issue apologize letter for mentally harassing, humiliating, threatening me and termination of my Child.

4. Organisations should install CCTV cameras and give access to the parents in the waiting room so that parents can watch over their kids.

5. Organisation should be penalized for shielding clinicians and admin staff.

6. The government should conduct inspection and check infrastructure and qualifications of the staff.
