The Amazon Rainforest has been burning for weeks now but many media outlets have failed to give this issue the attention it desperately needs and deserves. What does this have to do with this petition? As the attached article states: “Wildfires often occur in the dry season in Brazil but they are also deliberately started in efforts to illegally deforest land for cattle ranching”. Wildfires are often left to burn in order for land to be cleared so it can be used to raise cattle instead. This is unacceptable. It’s so important we do everything we can to prevent this.
