Hi all, I just wanted to reach out to let you know we’ve just passed 884 signatures on our petition! Thank you so much for your support!
The formal process for the tabling of a petition is to table the document at a Council Meeting. In this instance, the next Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 11 August 2020 at 7.00pm. This will be a virtual meeting via Zoom and a live stream can be accessed from our website. A link to the meeting will be available on the Live Stream of Council Meetings page: https://www.mornpen.vic.gov.au/About-Us/About-Our-Council/Council-Meetings/Live-Stream-of-Council-Meetings
The tabling of the petitions at the Council Meeting is the formal, public process for placing these matters before Council. There will be no debate or discussion on this item by Councillors, other than to vote on a motion to formally receive the petition and refer it to the appropriate Council officer for action.
Council will be in contact with me after this with an update... I will keep you all updated too!
Will you help me to get more support by sharing this petition with ten other people? We only need 116 more signaturesto get to 1000!!! If enough of us sign we can’t be ignored!
