Land Clearing and Climate Change Mitigation Just Don't Mix

We all know that maintaining a healthy ecosystem where vegetation can do its work in helping absorb greenhouse gas emissions and wildlife can do its work in keeping the vegetation healthy is an essential tool in mitigating climate change.

But in the Moreton Bay Regional area land clearing under the authority of all levels of government continues apace with devastating impacts upon the flora, fauna, and health of the area - see attached link for one of the saddest stories you may have read recently.

Despite an overwhelming percentage of respondents to local government surveys that showing the vital importance of preserving the natural environment to residents and visitors to the area, the area is losing hectares of native bushland and hundreds of lives every day.

The Moreton Climate Action Now campaign continues to petition, lobby, work with and encourage Moreton Bay Regional Council to employ all tools at its disposal to mitigate the impacts of climate change on the area.
