You've all joined me in my latest update on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, particularly regarding the arrival of Penultimate Wave of the Booster Course Pass - Wave 5.
With this update posted July 12th of 2023, at the time of the night before (late July 11th of 2023), I was able to get the update so that I can receive the Wave.
Just like a ride in a rollercoaster, this Wave has its ups and its downs. Let's go over what I mean by that.
For the "Ups"...
Kamek, Petey Pirahna, and Wiggler are now playable in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. And as far as I know, all the characters, particularly Petey Pirahna and Kamek, have new voice clips in addition to their old ones (with Kamek's voice clips deriving from Mario Kart Tour).
Another minor upside is that I like Wiggler and Kamek's horns being very interesting Easter Eggs: Wiggler's horn referencing when the caterpillar gets angry in Mario Kart Wii (during the Wi-Fi Tournaments) and Mario Kart 7; and Kamek's hor referencing his original sound effect in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
And to conclude on the "Ups", in addition to the Tour City Tracks & Squeaky Clean Sprint, a good number of the Retro Tracks are fan favorites adored by many Mario Karters young and old alike; and all of the music tracks for the courses are fun to listen to (with my favorite of the Wave 5 music tracks being Wii Moonview Highway).
As for the "Downs"...
For the first time in Mario Kart history, the time of day for Sunset Wilds no longer changes from Sunset to Twilight to Nightime like in Mario Kart Super Circuit & even Mario Kart Tour, losing what made the track unique.
My Pipe Frame theory, while not fully debunked just yet, seems to have some cold water, for instead of Pipe Frames have colors similar to the Koopalings like Birdo's Pipe Frame (or Wiggler using a Brown Pipe Frame like the Mii when suit color is Brown), the Pipe Frames used by Petey Pirahna, Wiggler, and Kamek all use color schemes already used by previous charactsrs (Petey's Pipe Frame = Luigi, Baby Luigi, Bowser Jr., etc.; Wiggler's Pipe Frame = Daisy, Baby Daisy, etc.; and Kamek's Pipe Frame = Rosalina, Baby Rosalina, Lakitu, etc.).
In terms of stuff somewhere in the middle, neither up nor down, it appears Wiggler and Kamek are able to use the Peach Parasol gliders in different colors: Wiggler having an orange Parasol like Daisy, and Kamek having a Teal / Turquoise / Cyan Parasol like Rosalina.
Needless to say, I really love the content that Wave 5 brought us, I like all the tracks that came with it, and most of all: I like all the characters that came via this Wave, even Wiggler.
With 5 Waves down, there's now one to go.
One last Wave...
The Wave that will have us doing a Final Countdown for it until it arrives...
The Wave that will bring us a Frantic Finale that hopefully no one will ever forget...
The Wave that will decide which 2 lucky characters will be chosen as the last new racers for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via the Booster Course Pass...
I am talking, of course, about the final wave of Booster Course Pass Wave 6.
Will Wave 6 end the Booster Course Pass with a bang?
Will there possibly more content for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe beyond the Booster Course Pass?
Will Pauline finally be one of the 2 upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe racers via the Booster Course Pass like I hope she would and I believe she deserves to be?
Who knows. I guess the answers will comes when we get more information aboit Wave 6 of the Booster Course Pass, possibly starting with via a possible September 2023 Nintendo Direct.
Until then, let's all enjoy Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass, while also keeping an eye on what's to come for Mario Kart Tour.

If we are able to succeed in seeing more content in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe like characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, power-ups, and more, especially as a means to preserve said content from Mario Kart Tour... we, as in each and every single one of us, will have helped ensure that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate of Mario Kart.
So for possibly one last final time, lets keep spreading the words on our wishes & desires for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to everyone we can, especially to Nintendo.
